The longer version: Jade has been working on our house for several months now. She started with a difficult project, converting an old barn into a great room. We used no architect, so the whole thing was of Jade’s conception as well as execution. She even did all the running around to get permits from the town and state authorities. No doubt she will show you before and after photographs, and we can testify that the transformation has been amazing, far in excess of our expectations. More important, in addition to doing a lot of the work herself, she also served as the project manager, working with a range of different subcontractors. We split our time between NYC and Warren, so there were long spells when we were not on site, and depended entirely on Jade’s supervision. She never let us down. The project was completed on time and on budget – and as New Yorkers, we count those as miracles! Just as that project was ending, we had a disaster in our main house, involving a leaking pipe and flooding. This left two bathrooms and the kitchen needing substantial repair and remodeling. Lucky for us, Jade took charge of the whole thing. Here, too, she did a lot of the work herself, but also managed sub-contractors – including plumbers, electricians, floor specialist, and water-mitigation and asbestos-mitigation experts. Again, we were not on site for most of the time, and put our faith in her. This is a direct quote from our insurance agent, about Jade:  “I have to say, in my experience she’s an extremely honest contractor… and you are lucky to have her.” Oh, and simultaneously, Jade also built a lovely deck for us. In these months, we’ve learned that Jade can handle a variety of very different jobs. She is meticulous, has great taste and a strong commitment to getting things done.
